Settling on a Post

I have come to the conclusion that I don't post very often, because I expect too much of myself. I come up with these grandiose posts in my mind that never make it onto the blog. And where are all of the profound thoughts that I have on a regular basis? They seem to leave me as fast as they come to me.

Well, I have had no profound thoughts today, but I don't want another day to pass without comment on how much fun these kids of mine are. David is a kick in the pants and sweet as anything. This week he sat in the dentists chair and had a tooth fixed. It was the day after his second birthday and really. What 2 year old sits to have a chipped and now decaying tooth fixed. Well, he did. I think he sat stock still partly is fear and partly because Dr. Couch told him to and well, Blue's Clues was on.

The only part he almost lost it on was the end when the dentist was smoothing out his tooth. I don't like that part either. We have the coolest dentists ever, David didn't have to be numbed because they have a fancy schmancy laser that can clean out certain cavities. Pretty cool!

So that was thrilling to hear about. But really those are the types of things that keep me going. When Catherine and David play house or when Andrew asked David what he wanted to play and David answered house. It is certainly not all peaches, but I love it when the kids treat each other well and say the sweetest things to each other. It is a huge payday for me.

We really enjoy our walks around the local lake. Levi and the kids can really get the dock rocking.

We got to go flying with Uncle Arron for the first time while Michele was here with her kids. David enjoyed the ride enough to pose with Uncle Arron after the flight.

Dale and Bryson enjoying their time together.

We ended up at the children's museum one Wednesday and the kids loved it. Big, bad Bryson riding around. The not quite washed off face paint makes for the scruffy look.

We took our annual trip to Yosemite early this year and it was lovely. A little cool in the morning and evening, but perfect for the rest of the day. No one was hot and whining and the crowds were minimal. Except the shuttle buses that is. The park wasn't using all of the buses and so every ride was a game of Sardines.

David's Second birthday came and went. He's getting to be such a kid now.

This picture got out of order. Andrew happened to have a band concert on his birthday and so we had a little celebration for him in the band room afterwards.

Wow about David and the dentist-what a great kido! I'm glad you see you've made it to the Children's Museum and glad your kids loved it.

I totally hear you about fleeting thoughts- they happen to me throughout the day and by the time I sit down to capture them I'm either too tired, too grumpy, or otherwise out of the moment and it doesn't happen. =) That's great you guys got to go to Yosemite on a beautiful day. Forrest and I are going this weekend =) I always enjoy your posts!
