Yea for Summer break
Summer break officially began for Bryson this past weekend. To start it off right I shipped him off to Disneyland with his dad and the band. He didn't find out until 2:15 this morning when I told him to bring his blanket and meet me in the family room. So cute and fun. We went back and forth on telling him. It was good at first because for a couple of days all of the seats were going to be full in the van. A parent decided to fly and Bryson's seat was open. Levi started to talk to the kids about it the other day, but because of comments from Andrew and Catherine like..."I want to go to Disneyland" and "You couldn't take just one of us because that wouldn't be fair." Levi just looked at me and I suggested we get to making the cookies we were planning on taking to some of our friends. Finally last night at about 9:00pm I was talking to the kids and did some hypothetical situations with them. Andrew was fine if Bryson was gone for the week. I knew that Catherine would get over it. I packed Bryson's bag and they are somewhere on I 5 right now.
Bryson being gone led Andrew to ask Catherine what she wanted to do this week. We were in the car taking him to school and Catherine casually replied, "learn to read." Well, the pressure is on. I guess I should start the teaching!
As I listened to Catherine while she was watching a show on PBS this morning I thought about when I learned how to read. I can't remember. The thought came to me. "Did PBS teach me the basics of reading?" It makes me laugh but I think it did. Most of you know that I am not much of a TV person, but it is really fun to hear Catherine respond and say the letter sounds and small words on the screen. Let's see what we can accomplish this week!

That is a great picture of your kids.
I think that is the BEST picture ever! Love it.
Catherine will naturally pick up so much from you homeschooling the other boys. And if you can give her a jump start over the summer, she'll hit the ground running.
Yay, I made it! I love that picture!
Oh, and let's get Cathrine to teach Adam how to read while you're out here. I'll just lay on a little more pressure. :)
So speaking of, know when you're coming yet?
I am so excited that you are in town! Give us a call! We would love to have you over for dinner or something. It would be great to see you guys.
