Really I'm not too crazy. While doing the laundry this morning I was thinking about how to feed my family better. I buy the food, I make the food. I realized one more time that our eating habits are up to me. While sorting the whites, lights, and darks, I thought of a conversation I had with one of my friends about the gospel. I assume it was Katie because she is the only friend I have been in the car with for a while. We were talking about how some people think of the "rules" we follow as restrictive, but really they give us freedom from sin, addiction and self inflicted heart ache.
What does this have to do with food you ask. Well here it is. Many times when we think of eating healthy we think of it as restrictive and no fun. When we choose our food wisely we are freed from addiction, (sugar in my case) extra pounds, and all around physical ailments. A few years back when I stopped eating many different foods to try and figure out a health issue. Dairy, wheat, corn, soy, and a few others. There was not a whole lot to eat other than fresh and fairly unprocessed foods. As a result my sugar intake went way down and I felt so good. The best part was when I got to the point that I didn't even want the junk food. It was a great feeling. I must say though that our culture is not very friendly to this eating style! I slowly started eating other foods again and now here I am wanted to eliminate a whole lot out of my diet.
My hope is that as I think of food in this way I will use a little more of my energy and time to feed us well. It may seem like a small thing, but you are what you eat! (no wonder I am so sweet) ha ha ha

Good for you Naomi! It's all about habit. When I decided to re-vamp my diet, the first week was really hard and I craved sugar quite often. However, after a couple weeks of eating lots of fruits and veggies, that is what I began to crave instead. My body wanted the good energy that comes from good foods.
I'm glad I rediscovered your blog, Naomi! I feel like I never get a second to chat with you anymore, but then again, that's my whole life with everyone lately! I'm officially subscribing so I don't miss any updates on here. :)
