Ouch
I planted 65 tulip bulbs today. Ouch is what I am saying now, but come April and May I should have a lovely display of tulips. My dad and I split a bulk order of bulbs. It sounds so much easier than it really is to dig 65 holes in dirt that is really clay and gravel. My hips, back and hand hurt. I had to throw away Bryson's little shovel that I broke. And I didn't finish all the way until it was dark and a little wet outside. While I worked when David was awake he sat and enjoyed picking up pine needles and leaves. So cute! My favorite was when he turned himself around and was sitting in the flower bed instead of on the driveway. The other three kiddos helped me move the river rock for the ????? time. It is what I call temporary landscaping:) The Tonka trucks were put to good use. Catherine even wore her red sparkle shoes for the occasion. The day did prove to be gorgeous with a little sunshine and a little sprinkle of rain. It really was perfect for working outside. This part of having a house is what I love. Levi added more lights to the house and Andrew spent a couple of hours outside digging and hidding his special rocks and then throwing the little shovel into the dirt. That is what childhood should be about.
