I have to thank Andrew for getting me started on cleaning more today. While I was walking him to class this morning he said to me, "Dude, Mom, what are you wearing?" I looked down at my capris that were a little to big a the over shirt I threw on because it was a little chilly in the house and i just hadn't taken it off. I responded with, "I look a little funny don't I?" "Ya Mom you do." I love the honesty we share in our family. So that started the clean out. I got home and put the capris in the DI bag and Catherine and I preceded to take everything out of my closet. It looks so cool now because all the shirts are together, skirts together, ext. I know many people always have there clothes this way, but it has been a long while since I have taken everything out. I said goodbye to a few more things. One of which I didn't even know I had.
Since I was in the mood to clean out and Catherine was really wanting to help, I got rid of a couple of things off the kitchen counter. First I cleared out a few things from my Pampered Chief utensil, turn style thing. Then I realized I still didn't like it. It is now in the DI bag. The things I am keeping out of it are in the old baggie, foil, plastic wrap drawer. Those items are in the old apron drawer and the aprons are in the hutch cupboard. It feels so funny to love to look in a kitchen drawer. I love it! I figure that since we are staying here for a little while I might as well enjoy it as much as possible.
I had a neat experience today. One of my friends comes over once a week while her daughter is at my neighbors house having piano lessons. She is the one that lent me the clutter clearing book, and so I usually update her on my latest success. She knew that I had gotten rid of a lot of clothing and hadn't replaced any. She showed up today at my house with a GAP bag that had three new shirts in it for me. I can't really describe how I felt, but I really appreciate her generosity. I knew that as I got rid of old it would make room for new, I just didn't know how easily it would come.
I hope that those of you who have joined the fun are having some success, even if it is only one thing a week or month. It still feels so good! Keep it up.

I hope the over-coat thing you were wearing wasn't the purple throw-over you gave to me that I absolutely love! Even if it is...it's okay since I love it! I laughed out loud at the utinsil holder part of the post-so funny! You're doing great!
That is so nice to know that your kids feel comfortable enough to tell you when you don't look up to par in their mind. It sounds like your house is becoming a whole new world. You should post some before and after pictures.(If you ever find your memory card)
I love getting rid of things I don't need. Such a liberating feeling!
