We LOVE Yosemite!

To celebrate Friday the 13th we went to Yosemite. I have lived in California my whole live and never been, so we decided it was about time. We took a day trip and had Arron and his family along for the ride. The drive was fun as we went through many old towns along 49. For everyone that has family come into town and asks me "where should we take them" My answer will now be "Yosemite".

Our first stop was here in front of Yosemite Falls. At this stop Levi and I learned that we must pay better attention to the roads we are on. It is not the best idea to turn left when you are not in the left lane. Anyway, we are very grateful to the nice RV who stopped without hitting us and didn't even honk. It was at this stop that Marcy discovered that her children's' shoes did not make it to the car. After stretching our legs and taking pictures we started our search for shoes.

Here is Courtney wearing her new shoes. We got to know the bus stops quite well and were able to rest and have plenty on snacks while we searched for children's shoes. Megan was out of luck, but fortunately Courtney was able to hike. We also got to witness the boldness of the Yosemite Squirrels. If you drop anything you are out of luck because they are there waiting for it. We witnessed one running into the store next to us. The employees said that the squirrels used to steal Power Bars from them when the display was by the door. That is nature at its best.

Catherine and Levi at the start of our hike. She promptly fell asleep. What a way to hike!

Marcy and me on the trail. She has Megan asleep in the sling.

This was our lunch break on our way to Vernal falls. I like this picture because of the little rascal in the background. These squirrels are not all that wild anymore. We had to watch our food closely because they are obviously very sneaky. Catherine spent much of lunch time hunting for and throwing pine cones.

This is the water fall that Andrew, Bryson and I climbed to the top of. It was quite the hike up some big steep steps, but was worth the climb. This is what made Andrew happy that we came to Yosemite. Up until the falls he claimed that we were not on a real hike. I think that he and Bryson were very proud of there accomplishment.

Here we are on the hike back. Andrew is a great photographer.
